What is personal information and how do we collect it?

Personal information is information that can personally identify you. We only ever collect personal information from you directly and some examples of when you may provide this include when:

  • Signing up for the Rental News newsletter
  • Completing a quiz and providing email and name to receive results
  • Completing a survey

Surveys

From time to time, we conduct market research through surveys. Participation in our surveys is voluntary. We protect the identities of our participants. How we use the information we obtain in surveys

We use the information we collect as research insights for ourselves and for our clients. In research in which the participants are intended to remain anonymous, we use tools and methods to make sure that there is no reasonable possibility of identifying an individual participant in the reports that we create for our clients.

We may use the information you give us to contact you. When we contact you – by phone or email depending on what information you provide to us – we will usually do so for one of the following reasons:

o    to update our records to ensure your information is correct;
o    to send you information regarding your participation such as how to redeem rewards;

Separate to personal information is the information we collect through cookies. This information is not personally identifiable and we use it to deliver an online experience that is relevant to you. The information collected is anonymous and is linked to a unique identifier on your device. We use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel to do this.
